A Joint Workshop by the Departments of General Education at Cihan University-Erbil and Cihan University-Duhok
On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, a delegation comprising 30 students from the Department of General Education at Cihan University-Duhok visited their counterparts at Cihan University-Erbil. The primary objective of this visit was to actively engage in a joint workshop, fostering stronger scientific and academic connections between the two esteemed universities.
The visiting delegation, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Ibrahim, was warmly received by Dr. Ahmed Abd Aoun, the Head of the Department of General Education, along with the entire teaching staff and students from various stages at Cihan University – Erbil.
Following, a workshop titled ‘Language and Technology: Navigating the Digital Frontier’ was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Samrand Aziz. In this dynamic session, students from both campuses actively immersed themselves, contributing valuable insights and participating in constructive discussions.
The workshop featured four students from Cihan University – Erbil, namely Alaa Thanoun, Dunya Hassan, Mihraban Abdullah, and Nihad Abdullah, along with four students from Cihan University – Dohuk: Israa Younis Mustafa, Rawan Hussein Ali, Roja Suleiman Ali, and Umed Ramadan Abdullah. The discussions centered around the intersection of language and technology, exploring the challenges and opportunities presented in the digital realm. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participating students from both universities, recognizing their valuable contributions to the workshop.
Following the academic activities, the visiting delegation was given a guided tour of the university’s facilities, providing them with an opportunity to explore the campus and appreciate its green spaces. The tour also included a visit to the “House of Art,” showcasing permanent art exhibitions and traditional buildings, rich in historical and cultural significance.
Dr. Khaled Ibrahim expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by Dr. Ahmed Abd Aoun and the Department of General Education at Cihan University – Erbil, including teaching staff and students from various stages. He extended an invitation for them to visit Cihan University – Duhok for future collaborations, workshops, and academic discussions.
