A Robotics Competition for Third-level Students of Computer Science Department
On Tuesday, 20th of April, 2021, a competition was held for third level students in department of Computer Science. The competition entitled “Robotics Competition” aimed at making students more familiar with Robotics technology, which nowadays affects every aspects of humans’ life.
The competition was held under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Abdullah Abdulabbas Nahi, students were asked to create a robot for doing a specific task and on the competition day, they presented the results of their work to other students. They focused on reducing energy consumption as well as enhancing security by using robotics technology.
During the competition, the best projects were selected among all submitted projects by students and the group members explained their work to the audience. The selected projects included: Radar detection system, Wi-Fi jammer box, motion sensitive night light system and fire detection system using Arduino.
This activity was an attempt to improve students’ knowledge about robotics technology and its role in life by designing some smart systems by themselves. After finishing the competition, robots designed by winners were approved to be exhibited in the coming exhibition of the Computer Science department.
