A Scientific Visit to Cihan City for the Architectural Department’s Third-Year Students

On Monday, January 29, the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University – Erbil, under the supervision of Dr. Nagham Ismael Yahya, carried out a scientific field trip for third-year students to the Cihan City Residential Complex. The main purpose was to observe an actual multi-family housing project, which will be the second-semester project for this year.

The students and the professor accompanying them were welcomed and given a tour of the project by Mr. Aran Nyazi, Administrative Director of Cihan City Complex / Phase I, and Mr. Raad Awni Saber, Manager of Cihan City Project / Phase II. The tour offered the students an opportunity to observe the details of the project, including the exterior and interior design of the residential units, as well as the construction aspects of the project.

According to the students, the visit helped them to bridge the gap between the theoretical and practical components of their studies. They also gained insights into the construction technology used in the project, including the finishing materials. Additionally, they obtained information about the service systems required for residential complexes, such as electricity, sewage, water networks, and fire extinguishing systems.
