Charitable Donation Campaign Organized for Orphaned Girls by the Academic Staff and Students of the Computer Science Department

The academic staff and students of the Computer Science Department at Cihan University – Erbil organized a charitable donation campaign to support the orphanage in the Directorate of Social Welfare – Bayt Khendah for Girls. This highlights the university’s commitment to social and corporate responsibilities by promoting values of generosity and community assistance.

A committee from the department purchased winter clothing for the orphaned children. Assistant Professor Dr. Reem Jafar Ismail, along with a group of Computer Science Department students, visited the orphanage on Tuesday, November 17, 2023. During this visit, a simple celebration was organized by the academic staff and students for the orphaned children, complete with the distribution of gifts, which brought joy and heartwarming smiles to the children’s faces.

Also, in recognition of the dedicated efforts of the orphanage’s staff, the Computer Science Department presented a memorial gift crafted at the Cihan University’s Cultural Center to Ms. Zheeno Azad, the director of the orphanage.

This campaign serves as a powerful reminder that higher education, in addition to imparting academic knowledge, plays a pivotal role in driving positive social change by nurturing a spirit of cooperation.
