Department of Law

The establishment of the department of law at Cihan university coincided with the establishment of the university itself in 2007, It has included a department of law for both the morning and evening studies, The period of time required for the study in the college is five years, after which the graduate is awarded bachelor's certificate in law. the college depends upon well-developed curricula in both of these departments, and in various specializations to be taught in these two departments, in order to provide the society with highly-qualified graduates to work in the field of law , whether as lawyers, investigators, judges, or any other role in the judiciary and legal spheres in addition to other highly specialized sectors in the field of the international and diplomatic relations. The college also aims at preparing students to apply for various jobs in the field of diplomatic corps, as well as administering public relations in both private and public institutions.

The elevation and improvement of the highly-specialized legal culture require the high quality of the students as being classified among higher scientific standards. The department of law is also tasked with selecting well-experienced academic staff and faculty with advanced academic titles, as well as preparing a well-established library, using modern teaching and training methods containing the state-of-the art technology of communicating information, keeping pace with latest legislation. The department of law is also concerned with cooperating with its counterparts at other universities, besides activating the movement of scientific research, and providing its prerequisites whether they be teaching materials or applied pieces of research.

The department of Computer Science seeks to establish a base of innovators and specialists in computer science and Programming languages, to form a distinguished scientific base in areas related to the knowledge and applications of computers, and to prepare plans for the development of the educational tools in order to ensure the fulfillment of the highest quality requirements. The department of computer science also ensures the provision of distinguished graduates that are able to cover the market needs, and keep up with the advances in the field of information and communication technology. The department ensures that the graduates are able to complete their graduate studies for Masters and Doctorates in various fields of computer science and are able to do high-quality scientific research

The objectives of the Department are to:

Graduating specialized cadres in computer science able to meet the market needs and have the theoretical and practical knowledge along with the needed skills to satisfy the needs of the community in the Kurdistan Region - Iraq and the Iraqi universities.
Supporting the applied studies associated with the development of systems and software solutions.
Developing training programs aimed at raising the level of the usage of computers in various fields, allow citizens to take advantage of these programs, and provide advice and technical support to the various sectors of the society.
Providing academic programs of excellence in the field of computer science in accordance with the global quality assurance standards
Providing graduates with the needed knowledge to conduct basic research and provide graduates with the skills to be able to communicate and work with others individually, or within a team.
