DESCRIPTION
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Cihan University-Erbil was established in 2017 as the only department among all Iraqi universities to award a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. The program provides students with a strong foundation in clinical dietetics, human nutrition, food science, and public health over four years. Students will learn the crucial connection between food, nutrition, and health.
VISION
The vision of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is to raise public awareness of nutrition and food in the Kurdistan region and Iraq through better nutritional care. It also aims to gain national and international recognition for nutrition science, education, leadership, and research.
MISSION
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Cihan University-Erbil trains its graduates for leadership roles in nutrition, dietetics, and food services. Its objective is to enhance health and tackle non-communicable diseases by improving nutritional care and lifestyle choices through research, strategic development, policy recommendations, professional education, and dissemination of nutrition information to the public.
