Law Department Students Carried Out a Scientific Activity at Shahid Kicher Preparatory School, Erbil

On Monday, February 3, 2025, a group of 2nd-year students from the Law Department at Cihan University-Erbil delivered a series of educational lectures to preparatory school students from Shahid Kicher in Erbil. They were welcomed by Teacher Zhegaf, the school administrator.

The activity initially focused on introducing students to the basic principles related to penal law, public international law, and their importance to society. In addition to that, they gave an overview of the importance of the College of Law and the role of lawyers in society as protectors of rights and defenders of society.

The students then represented their topics in the form of a general discussion with the school students. A group of students clarified some legal concepts related to Penal law, including the general concept of crime and its elements, in addition to the topic of participation in crime and the importance of this topic in Penal law.

Subsequently, the second group of students presented topics related to public international law. The general concept of public international law was explained in addition to other important topics such as the elements of the state and the rules governing the maritime territory.

Then they gave the school students sufficient time to ask their questions and comment on anything. The school administration also expressed its thanks and gratitude for such a visit because of its importance in raising the academic level of students.

This activity comes within a series of scientific activities carried out by students under the supervision of the College of Law at Cihan University-Erbil to enable them to acquire the necessary practical skills.
