Minister of Higher Education Honors Top Researchers at Cihan University-Erbil with Certificates of Appreciation

Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, awarded certificates of appreciation to two distinguished researchers and professors from Cihan University-Erbil. These researchers have achieved acknowledgment in the list of the world’s top researchers at Stanford University for the year 2023.

     Prof. Dr. Seyed Mohammad Sajadi, a chemist and lecturer in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Amin Abdullah, a biologist and lecturer in the Department of Medical Microbiology at Cihan University-Erbil, have been highlighted among the elite group of top researchers at Stanford University for the year 2023. Furthermore, their names have been recognized as the top two researchers of the year in various other rankings within both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in recent years.

     The award ceremony took place at the Conference Hall of Sheraton Hotel on Monday, January 15, 2024. Organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the event aimed to honor the outstanding researchers chosen by Stanford University for the year 2023.

     The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with Deputies, Advisors, and Directors General of the Ministry. Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, also attended. The occasion featured several speeches, addressing topics such as scientific research for societal advancement across various fields. Subsequently, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research awarded certificates of appreciation to the deserving researchers, including the presentation of certificates to Prof. Dr. Sayed Mohammed Sajadi, a chemist and lecturer in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Amin Abdullah, a biologist and lecturer in the Department of Medical Microbiology.
