Department of Physiotherapy

The mission of the Physiotherapy Department is to promote and maintain the highest level of education through improvement in education, research quality, and community services in the field of physical therapy. The Department offers a comprehensive educational program, which will extend for four years through varieties of teaching methodology, laboratory, clinical experiences and field training, which are culturally and ethically sensitive. To enhance the practical skills along with classroom teaching, students will train at various centers throughout the duration of study.

Upon successfully completing the program and fulfilling the requirements, the graduates will be able to work as:

Physiotherapist in multi and super specialty hospitals, outpatient and home care clinics and rehabilitation centers.
Ergonomist in industrial sectors and other occupational environments.
Fitness Instructors and training in sport training facilities.
Self -employed / home care physical therapist.
Pursue a career as a teacher and researcher.
Advancing in the career could be accomplished by pursuing Master in Physiotherapy (MPT) and PhD in specialties like musculoskeletal, neurological, cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation and others.

The overall objective of the course is to train professional physiotherapists. Therefor the aim of the program is to educate high quality university-level physiotherapists on the basis of the latest fundamental and applied interdisciplinary science and modern technological achievements. The graduates will be ethically responsible, creative and enterprising, professionally providing modern research-based physiotherapy services, which include testing and evaluation of the patient’s clinical condition, the need for physiotherapy and diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of the physiotherapy procedures.

Upon successful completion of the program and fulfilling the local license/regulatory requirements, the student can:

Physical therapist in multi and super specialty hospitals, outpatient and home care clinics, rehabilitation centers.
Ergonomist in industrial sectors and other occupational environments.
Instructor in fitness and sports training facilities.
Self -employed/home care physical therapist.
Pursue career as a research assistant.
Advance in career by pursuing Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) and PhD in specialties like musculoskeletal, neurology, cardio-pulmonary, women’s health and pediatrics
