Radiological Imaging Technologies Department Celebrated the Global Entrepreneurship Week

As part of the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW 2023), the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department at Cihan University – Erbil, in collaboration with Toastmasters International – Iraq Branch, organized an international workshop titled “The Role of the Private Sector in Entrepreneurship Awareness.”

On the 21st of November 2023, the workshop was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, the President of the University, and in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Kareem, the Vice President for Administration Affairs, representing the University’s President.

The workshop focused on key concepts in the field of entrepreneurship and the efforts made to reintegrate the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Iraq. Special attention was given to the role of universities, with Cihan University–Erbil serving as a role model, leading the way in supporting this vital sector.

Ms. Nawara Al-Awqatti, the Area Director of Toastmasters Iraq, provided insights into the efforts of NGOs in supporting entrepreneurship. Eng. Omar Adil M. Ali, the Head of the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department at Cihan University – Erbil, emphasized the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in the Iraqi community and praised the university’s role in providing necessary support to ambitious and innovative youth striving to achieve their goals in the field of entrepreneurship.

This workshop serves to highlight the efforts and steps taken by Cihan University-Erbil to enhance its position in the field of entrepreneurship on both the local and international stages. These efforts include developing an advanced curriculum aligned with international standards, offering soft skills development courses, and implementing international student exchange programs. In addition, the university has established various centers focusing on students’ creativity and innovation.
