Scientific Symposium in The Department Of Law
On 27th February 2022, The students of the fifth stage in the Department Of Law organized a scientific symposium entitled (Legal Adaptation of the Social Phenomena), to link the theoretical study with the application of scientific law the students participated in this symposium with their research papers that dealt with some social phenomena, which society suffers from it and related it to the legal issues, as legal conditioning is determining the correct legal description of social phenomena, or behavior, to link them to a specific legal issue in preparation for determining the law to which this phenomenon is subject.
Among the social phenomena that the symposium dealt with is the phenomenon of domestic violence and the broken law in Iraq, as well as the phenomenon of drug abuse and its effects on society and the legal ways to address it. The papers also dealt with the phenomenon of divorce in Iraqi society as a social phenomenon in a legal study by adapting the phenomenon to the Iraqi Personal Status Law.
After the symposium, the necessity of activating the law and keeping pace with the rapid developments in social phenomena, especially negative ones, was emphasized, with new legislation to deter them and limit their effects.
