STUDENTS OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS DEPARTMENT, USED VIRTUAL REALITY TECHNOLOGY AS AN ADVANCED TEACHING TOOL FOR LEARNING GENETIC
On Thursday November 4th , the third year students of Nutrition and Dietetics visited the department of Computer science for using Virtual Reality (VR) technology as an advanced educative tool for their Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenomics subject. This scientific visit arranged by Dr. Salih Mustafa Salih, the head of the department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Dr. Behnaz Shahrokhisahneh, the lecturer at the department of Nutrition and Dietetics and conducted by Mr. Mohammed Hussein Shukur, Head of Computer Science Department.
VR is a high technology which can be used as an educative tool for students especially for the students in life sciences subjects. The department of Computer Science, Cihan University provides this facility for all its students
VR is a high technology tool for better understanding of the genetics including genome, DNA structure, and gene expression process (i.e. DRA replication). The students also experienced virtually the DNA sequencing methods which can be a simulation of genetic laboratory techniques. It was a fruitful scientific visit and beneficial for students.
