Students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Cihan University-Erbil visit the Family Food Factory
In continuation of the scientific and field activities of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Cihan University – Erbil, several students from different stages visited the (Family food factory). The visit was on Thursday (11/5/2023) under the supervision of Dr. (Sarah Omar). During the scientific trip, the students were introduced to the workflow in the food factory in all sections of the factory and how food products are produced.
The students were welcomed by Mr. Sardar, the director of the laboratory, who let the students into the factory warehouse to learn how to preserve the products and explained that all products are used for less than one year and that products with a low expiration date are served and used earlier than those with an expiration date After that, they visited the laboratory section of the factory under the supervision of Mrs. Eman, and she explained how the products are tested, whether they are suitable for sending to markets and supermarkets or not.
Then they visited the packaging section where it was explained how the pieces of equipment work, the history, and what materials are they made of. Then they visited the section where they asked the students to taste their products (cakes) and give their opinions.
Such visits come as a bridge between the theoretical information taught to the students and the practical life
