The Commencement of the Football Championship Games at Cihan University-Erbil

On January 22, 2024, the annual championship for Cihan University – Erbil’s league of colleges and departments commenced with 18 teams chosen from across the university. A draw was conducted using an individual drop-off system to determine the matchups, and the number of matches was set for all participating teams. The first game featured the Department of Community Health Nursing team against the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences team.

The match concluded with the Department of Community Health Nursing team emerging victorious by one goal through penalty kicks. Simultaneously, the second match took place between the teams of the Department of Medical Microbiology and the Department of Computer Science team.

The Medical Microbiology team secured a win with a score of four goals to two. Both matches were characterized by spirited and friendly competition. It’s noteworthy that the championship was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Zhian Jamal Othman, the head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, along with a group of outstanding fourth-year students.
