The most important activities of the Finance and Banking Department for the current academic year 2018 – 2019
The department has carried out many academic and social activities that serve both scientific and humanitarian aspects, stressing the Department’s keenness to serve science and society.
The activities of the teaching staff were summarized as follows:
1- 18/1/2018 Dr. Mujeeb Hassan Mohammed held a workshop under the title “Problems of the banking sector in Iraq and ways to address them” for a group of employees in governmental and private banks.
2 – 18/9/2018 The participation of the head of the department and a number of professors in the symposium held by the International Bank of Kurdistan on the initiative of the Central Bank for the granting of microcredit in the presence of a group of experts, banks and economists and a general manager of the Central Bank of Iraq.
3- 20/5/2019 Dr. Mujeeb Hassan Mohammed evaluated the validity of published research entitled “determinants of economic growth in the Libyan economy” in Sabratha scientific journal. Another research entitled “The BOT Method and System as an Effective Mechanism for Development and Modernization of Infrastructure Projects: The Turkish Experience” was published in the Egyptian Journal of Legal and Economic Studies.
4- 17/4/2019 Dr. Mujeeb Hasan Mohammed published his research entitled ” “Measuring the Effect of Competitiveness of Some International Indicators in the Doing Business of Selected Countries” in Rafidain Development Journal, Volume 37, No. 120, 2019.
5- 4/5/2019 Participation of a group of professors in the workshop of the Association of Iraqi private banks entitled “The role of the banking role in activating the Iraqi capital market” in cooperation with the Tamkeen Fund and the Arbil Stock Exchange.
- Ms. Dina Aziz Mohammed Al-Saji participated in many courses, workshops, and seminars, including:
A – from 25/2/2019 to 27/2/2019 Participating in a workshop entitled “Etiquette and its role in business and social relations” at the Catholic University.
B – 5/3/2019 The selection of Professor Dina Aziz by the Al-Quds Open University- Khan Yunis branch as a member of the Preparatory Committee for the second scientific day of mathematics (SDMS -2).
T-10/4/2019 Participation in the Second International Conference of Tishk University (ICABEP2019).
22 – 4/2019 Participation in the World Earth Day Symposium at the Kurdistan University.
C- 26/4/2019 Participation in the Erbil Diplomatic Forum, which was organized by NFSY under the auspices of the Kurdistan Parliamentary Union and in collaboration with the British Foundation for Training and Development and the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University.
8/5/2019 Participation in a workshop entitled “Google Scholar Citation” at the Catholic University.
10/5/2019 Attended a workshop on how to trade the international financial markets.
D – 12/6/2019 Attend a workshop on public speaking skills at the American Corner of the Kurdistan University.
As for the activities of the students of the department were represented as follows:
A – On 2/5/2018 a group of students in the fourth level held a symposium entitled “The currency market and its impact on the economy”
C-7/6/2019 The unveiling of the display panel of foreign currencies old.
