The president of Cihan University-Erbil talks about the future roadmap of the university
On Tuesday 10th of Oct. 2023, Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Al-Dalawi met the academic staff from all the scientific departments of the university in the VIP hall. The president of Cihan University-Erbil valued the efforts and the role of the staff members in the university and assured the importance of preparing themselves for the new stage of work at the university.
At the beginning of the meeting, the university’s president welcomed all the staff members wishing them good luck in the current academic year. Throughout the meeting, he tackled the scientific achievements of the university on international and local levels such as opening new departments for the first time in Iraq and Kurdistan and having twenty-seven scientific departments.
He also added that the university is not restricted to a fixed curriculum, on the contrary, the university is updating the curriculum of all the departments on a yearly basis based on the scientific development in the American and European universities. Good evidence of that is having over seven hundred graduates of Cihan University-Erbil accepted for higher education studies in America and in many European countries. In addition to sending many undergraduates to Polish and German universities besides having regular visits of the staff of the university to Poland, Germany, and Holland in order to stay up-to-date on the new scientific developments. Moreover, the president talked about the research center in the university and the reward system for scientific publishing in local, impact factor clarivate, and Scopus journals.
In addition, the president clarified that both the university administrators and the faculty members have duties and rights that should be committed to in order to elevate the university. He noted that the doors are open for a suggestion from the staff to develop the university.
Prof. Dr. Amjad also mentioned the university’s electronic system including Moodle platform and teacher and student feedback system (MMS) and the importance of using them according to the regulations to register students’ marks and teachers’ information. Besides following the instructions for teachers and students at the exams from the start of the exam until the submission of papers and the checking of answers.
At the end of the meeting, the professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Al-Dalawi expressed his thanks to the staff members wishing them good luck in the current academic year.
