The students of the Media Department visited the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate
To be closely aware of the programs, work, and projects of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate for Professional Safety of Journalists, media students from Cihan University Erbil visited the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate in Erbil.
On Sunday (19/02/2023), under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hemin Amin Shwani, third-grade students in the Media Department at Cihan University Erbil in the context of Journalistic safety and protection visited the Kurdistan Journalists’ Syndicate.
One part of the captain’s speech was dedicated to professional safety, for which he thanked Cihan University Erbil and the Media Department for taking the initiative to study the subject within the program as a result of the journalists’ syndicate’s initiative. He explained that the safety and protection of journalists is an important issue not only during the war, but also during a time of peace, especially for Kurdistan Region, which is living in an unusual situation, and hoped that academic journalists would benefit from the content of the issue.
Bzhar Hakim, deputy officer of the Kurdistan Journalists’ Syndicate, then talked about journalists from other parties and the work of the syndicate to protect journalists’ lives.
In another part of the meeting, students asked the officer about the stability of the officer of the Kurdistan Journalists’ Syndicate, which was specific to the syndicate’s efforts to protect journalists’ lives and mechanisms. Being a member of the association and the syndicate’s role in providing job opportunities for academic media and the reasons for the lack of national media, the captain of the journalists’ syndicate answered questions.
Finally, Assistant Lecturer Hemin Amin Shwani, on behalf of the Media Department, thanked the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate. He also talked about the importance of working together between the Journalists’ Syndicate and the media departments to benefit from each other’s experience to develop an academic and active media worker for the future of the community and to serve the field of journalism.
