Another pedagogical course for teachers from the Ministry of Education commenced at Cihan University-Erbil
On Monday, August 28, 2023, a ceremony marked the inauguration of the second Teaching Methods (Pedagogy) course designed for Ministry of Education instructors. The event took place in the VIP hall of the university and was attended by dignitaries including Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, president of Cihan University-Erbil, Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cihan Campuses, Mr. Burhan Argushi, representing the Ministry of Education; and the head of the departments of the university. Several speeches were delivered during this occasion.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, president of Cihan University-Erbil, expressed his honor and delight in the participation of additional educators from Ministry of Education at Cihan University-Erbil to enhance their theoretical and practical teaching skills. He emphasized, “A healthy society is contingent upon a robust education system, and a strong education system ensures a healthy society.” He went on to explain that the Ministry of Education and its teachers are the only institutions that maintain a direct connection with every family in our society. Therefore, the capabilities of teachers directly impact society. Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi also stressed that the university and its academic staff are committed to supporting the success of the course in every conceivable way to ensure teachers are trained using the latest academic methods.
Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cihan Campuses, asserted, “To build a brighter future, we must establish a solid educational foundation, and this requires competent teachers.” He also mentioned that Cihan universities have plans to launch an extensive campaign in Kurdistan cities and towns to provide teacher training in collaboration with the Ministry of Education to fulfill this need.
During the same ceremony, Mr. Burhan Argushi, representing the Ministry of Education, expressed gratitude to the Cihan universities for their ongoing cooperation and support to the Ministry of Education. He highlighted the significance of this course in elevating the knowledge and teaching methodologies of teachers.
A total of 102 teachers from the Ministry of Education are participating in the second pedagogical course. They are receiving daily instruction in both theory and practice from a distinguished academic staff at Cihan University-Erbil.
