Cihan University-Erbil Students Explore Baroque Architecture and Royal Heritage
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, as part of the ongoing cultural and field activities in Poland, a group of students from Cihan University-Erbil, currently completing an academic semester at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), conducted a scientific and cultural visit to the King Jan III Palace Museum in Wilanów.
The participating students included Kosrat Azad Khidir, a second-year student in the Department of Medical Microbiology, and Hevar Hazhar Mohammed, a third-year student in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, who is pursuing her studies through the global Erasmus+ program funded by the European Union. During the visit, the students explored the majestic Baroque architecture and the rare artistic collections within the palace, which reflect a significant era in Polish royal history.
The excursion covered several prominent sections of the palace, including the private royal apartments adorned with golden ornaments and rare historical paintings from previous centuries, as well as the fine arts gallery featuring world-class masterpieces. Additionally, the students spent time in the vast palace gardens, which were designed in meticulous Italian and French styles and are considered among the most beautiful landmarks in Poland. This field visit provided a valuable opportunity for the students to observe the civilizational details embodied in 17th-century architecture, representing a unique blend of art, history, and classical engineering.
The students noted that exploring such historical landmarks and engaging with global heritage broaden their perspectives on academic and cultural exchange while fostering a deeper understanding of international civilizations.
