Assistant Lecturer from Cihan University–Erbil Participates in Hospital Visits and Healthcare Innovation Program in China

As part of the international training program titled ‘Capacity Building for Primary Healthcare Services in Developing Countries,’ Assistant Lecturer Hero Ismael Mohammed from the Biomedical Sciences Department at Cihan University–Erbil participated in a series of educational and professional activities in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.
On Monday, June 22, 2026, the participants visited Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital, one of the leading healthcare institutions in southwestern China. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Xiang Yang, Chief Physician and Deputy Director of Medical Affairs, who provided an overview of the hospital’s healthcare services, management system, and organizational structure.
During the visit, participants toured several key departments and facilities, gaining firsthand insight into hospital administration and patient care practices. The delegation observed patient admission and registration procedures, outpatient service management, ward organization, and operating room preparation processes. The visit offered valuable perspectives on the integration of efficiency, quality assurance, and patient-centered care within China’s healthcare system.
In the second part of the program, the delegation visited Chengdu Second People’s Hospital, where participants explored a range of clinical, educational, and research facilities. The visit included tours of the outpatient hall and the hospital’s History Museum, which showcases the development of healthcare services in Sichuan Province and highlights major achievements in medical practice and public health.
Participants were also introduced to innovative research initiatives, including the application of Brain Computer Interface (BCI) technology in modern medicine. In addition, they observed advanced operating room facilities and contemporary anesthesia technologies used by the hospital to enhance patient safety and improve surgical outcomes.
The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Chen Lei, Hospital Manager, who welcomed the participants and expressed the institution’s openness to future academic and professional collaboration. Discussions focused on opportunities for knowledge exchange, healthcare research partnerships, and potential avenues for international cooperation between healthcare and academic institutions.
The visits provided participants with valuable exposure to China’s healthcare delivery system, hospital management practices, and emerging medical technologies. These experiences contributed significantly to the objectives of the international training program while fostering global collaboration in healthcare education, research, and professional practice.
