The students of the Media Department visited Channel 24
To closely introduce media students from Cihan University-Erbil to the working environment and how media workers in media sections, the media department’s leadership organized a scientific trip to Kurdistan 24 Channel.
On Sunday (25/9/2022) subject the supervision of assistant lecturer Hemin Amin Shwani, the students of the second stage of the Media Department visited Kurdistan 24 Channel and were led by Ms. Hiba Aziz were welcomed, and then in one of the channel’s studios, she presented students with a summary of the history of the establishment of Kurdistan Channel 24, its structure and the number of offices inside and outside Kurdistan.
Then in the newsroom, Kuwana Izzat, the head of the unit, talked about the news structure on the channel and their news sources and how the room’s employees worked for them, and he explained how many publications he published daily. They have news, apart from the direct articles and special events they are preparing for earlier, to discuss the details of their work and how the departments cooperate to publish the news.
During another part of their visit, students got introduced to working in the new media, particularly the website of Kurdistan 24 on social networks.
Kurdistan24 Channel said: “We have full cooperation with the NewsRoom, its staff, and the design section, but unlike the channel with broadcasting news and activities in Sorani and Kurmanji, they also publish their news and reports in several other languages.”
On the Kurdistan 24 Channel, students from the Media Department visited Radio Kurdistan 24. In this context, Radio director Handren Muhammad explained to the students that working on the radio is different from working on television or newspapers because it is worth it here. It will be voted on, but now we are taking advantage of new media and broadcasting most of our programs directly on social networks, he said, and our work is based on a national basis without distinguishing ourselves from voices, colors, sects, and nations, as well as caring.
With young people and women working, The Director of Kurdistan Radio 24 dedicated another part of his speech to radio features and those who wish to work on radio, especially educating with voices.
Finally, the students visited the control unit, the machete, the studio, and other parts of the channel and asked staff and department officials several questions about the style and details of their work.
