Department of Media Students Participate in an International Forum in Erbil

On Thursday, August 6, 2026, a number of students from the Media Department at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim, participated in the 4th Gashapedan International Forum for Students (GFS), held in the city of Erbil.

The forum, organized by the Kurdistan Students Development Organization, took place in the hall of MAARIF International School in Erbil, with the participation of more than 300 students from across the Kurdistan Region. Among the participants were students from the Media Department: Sarkar Hussein (4th stage), Amanj Sabri (3rd stage), and Elham Najat (2nd stage). The title of the forum is “Relations in a Changing World,” aiming, through various panels, training sessions, and workshops, to strengthen the capabilities of participating students in the communication process across social, cultural, and digital spheres.

The opening ceremony was held with the attendance of officials from the relevant ministries dealing with student affairs, who highlighted the importance and objectives of the forum. Discussions also focused on current student challenges and potential solutions, while encouraging participating students to play an active role in advancing their country by strengthening their local and international relations and utilizing their education and university environment as an opportunity to build these capabilities.

It is worth noting that the Gashapedan Forum for Students (GFS) is scheduled to continue until Saturday, August 8, 2026, concluding with the awarding of certificates of participation to the attendees.
