DESCRIPTION

The Dental Technology Department is an integral element of the dental service. It deals with the design, fabrication, and repair of dental prostheses, which include crowns, complete dentures, and fixed or removable partial dentures. The term ‘prostheses’ applies to any artificial replacement for lost body parts. Prosthetic dentistry (Prosthodontics) is the art and science of fabricating artificial replacements for missing oral structures.

VISION

The Dental Technology Department, which is considered a modern science, seeks to take the lead in the field by preparing competent staff that can achieve this vision. Enrolling in a four-year program in this department enables the creation of the dental treatment plan based on laboratory applications. The program contributes to higher education through contemporary curricula, based on and harmonized with the best practice at the European level.

MISSION

Its mission is to develop trained dental technicians with advanced techniques to meet the professional standards. Training local students to be professional dental technicians rather than recruiting international dental technicians is emphasized. A prosthetic dental technician will collaborate and communicate with the dentist to plan, design, and fabricate dental prosthesis based on the oral dimensions of the models on the fixed and removable partial dentures, shaping maxillofacial prosthesis, molding method to replicate, using tools to make maintenance and simple repairs. They are leveling and polishing the aesthetic appearance.
