DESCRIPTION
The Department of English was founded in 2008 due to the increasing public demand for more graduates in the field, especially following the rapid development in the Kurdistan region. Since its establishment, the department has undergone substantial changes in its academic staff, the number of students, the courses taught, and the facilities it offers. Evening classes were offered by the department in the following year.
VISION
Its vision is to establish a well-qualified department that meets high international standards. It also aims to enhance its teaching-learning processes to prepare students for future careers and responsibilities, significantly contributing to the overall expectations of the university.
MISSION
The mission of the English Department is to develop students’ literary and linguistic understanding, cultural perception and awareness, as well as their English language proficiency. Moreover, it aims to prepare graduates for the job opportunities available upon graduation. It also prepares graduates to deal with a rapidly changing and technologically advanced context influenced by international phenomena.
