Graduation Ceremony Of Gihan University – Erbil, 2016 -2017

Under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Government of the Kurdistan Region “Dr. Yousef Qoran”  on 30/3/2019, held in the campus of Cihan University -Erbil, the graduation ceremonies for the graduates of the academic year 2016-2017,  attended the celebration, the representatives of the Minister of Higher Education and Research The Director General of the Ministry of the Ministry and a number of presidents and deans of universities and a large number of university professors and well- known personalities.

The ceremonies of the graduation ceremony began with the reading of the Holy Quran recited by “Dr. Abdul Sattar Karam Saeed” and then a minute of silence in honor of our martyrs. Then the following gentlemen presented their speeches at the ceremony:

Good Greeting…
At the outset, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the members of the University Council and to all the faculty, staff and students of Cihan-Erbil University for the hospitality of this beautiful scientific festival.
Distinguished guests: It is a pleasure and honor for us to attend the ceremony of graduation of the seventh session of the University of Cihan – Erbil, where it graduated (1543) students of (15) different specialization.
Your enthusiasm and persistence in attending this festival is proof of your respect and appreciation for the efforts exerted by the graduates and at the same time indicates your endless support for the university and the academic and scientific institutions in Kurdistan.

Dear graduates of the seventh session at the University of Cihan – Erbil: I congratulate you with pride on graduation and ask you to serve with this knowledge of our Kurdish nation with all your strength and build your home and raise the interest of your people, this people who sacrificed and Sacrifice a lot in order to produce a campaign of pens, science and knowledge and to see their children today who graduate under the flag of Kurdistan which is fluttering high and high. I would also like to thank and congratulate the distinguished professors and my great appreciation and gratitude to them for their great role in bringing up a generation of students ready to serve the community and lead the reconstruction in the Kurdistan Region. You are the symbol and hope of future generations, I wish you success.

Distinguished guests: Cihan University – Erbil since its first academic year (2007-2008) and as the first civil university to this day continues to provide educational services to the community, all thanks to the determination and unlimited dedication to the presidency of the university and its professors and staff and students, and here In its 12th year, the university continues to provide its services with all its strength and through a scientific wealth represented by (197) specialized university professors in various fields. They hold different scientific titles, lecture in (21) scientific departments, and our university has a number Of private and distinguished centers, interested in developing human capabilities in the community I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of some of them: (Gender Center, Center for Research, Engineering Consultation Office, Center to provide employment opportunities, the Center (ICDL), the Cultural Center).
I would like to thank the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for their continuous cooperation and support to the civil universities in general and Cihan University-Erbil in particular.
I also express thanks on behalf of the Cihan University -Erbil to the Cihan Group as the founder of the University and to the Board of Trustees of the University for their active and positive role in their unlimited support for our University.

In the beginning, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all those who are now present in this great festival. I welcome you on my behalf and on behalf of the members of the Board of Trustees of the University, the members of the University Council and the entire University of Cihan. Your participation in this event dear ones is a pleasure and pride for us. Today we see a constellation of students from Kurdistan who graduate and reveal to the world the fruit of the university. This university is always trying to be at the forefront of the universities and the most advanced and to maintain this level of performance. . The doors of the university are open to all and it constantly hosts students, researchers, professors and academics in order to develop the society, especially the homeland in general … Welcome to the citadel of academia and science.

Dear guests ……

We are pleased to represent Dr. Yousef  Qoran, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the graduation ceremony of your seventh year for the academic year (2016 – 2017) and to share with you this joy. It is appreciated that, for the first time, a local investor (Cihan Group) has joined the higher education sector in the private sector like other countries in the developed world. Not only that, it succeeded in opening universities in the cities of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok. We are also pleased to offer our warm congratulations to the faculty, administrators, and graduates of (1543) students. We also extend our congratulations to the students and their families.
This may be the last day for you in your academic life at the university but at the same time represents the beginning of a new journey in your professional life, where our region needs people rich in science and contemporary knowledge to develop different areas of the labor market in the Kurdistan Region and service in it, Our thanks and appreciation to your university which succeeded this year in the graduation of a new batch of students qualified to engage in the labor market in the Kurdistan Region.

It is no secret that you will carry the science in several important areas and linked to the affairs of citizens every day, so your role is of great importance, especially within the Kurdish community, because the jobs you will occupy in the future will be directly related to the pillars of the state administration in all its financial, administrative and legal aspects and to the administration of health  and science sectors and as well as other important areas in the development of our country, and this highly depends on your dedication and preservation of values and principles of professional ethics in your future functions and to promote our country to progress. Therefore, we hope that you will have an important role in this field and that the Kurdistan markets will witness a recovery and tangible development at your hands.

It may be an appropriate opportunity to highlight some of the projects of our ministry and implemented in the previous period with the aim of developing and upgrading the universities of the Kurdistan Region in general, including the development and renewal of curricula in multiple sections, in order to approach international standards and make it proportionate With the labor market in the Kurdistan Region, we also announced the draft national classification of the universities of the Kurdistan Region, which led to the creation of a good competitive atmosphere between universities, and you know that your university and according to the last classification of universities were in the first group, and thus got the approval of the Ministry of  Higher Education to open the higher study – Master. We are pleased to have your university ranked first in the ranking of the world site (Google Scholar Citation) at the level of the region and second place in the level of Iraq with our wishes for you to continue these successes. Among the activities and projects of the ministry is the announcement by the minister in 2015 about a new strategy, the Process Bologna project, which is a project in which the ministry asked the universities to change the system of study from the annual education which is old and is rarely used globally to the system of courses, some universities and some departments responded to this request and took good steps in this area. The ministry is currently focusing on this project so that some universities will implement this system at all stages of study and its sections. The ministry also has important plans in this field for the success of the project in the future, including an official letter to all universities to change their educational systems to this new system in the academic year (2019- 2020) and the application of the Bologna Process system in all its faculties and institutes. It is gratifying to note that your university has been implementing this system since the beginning of its establishment and it is therefore at the forefront of universities that implement this system. In conclusion, we renew our warm congratulations to the graduate students and the professors, with our wishes for success…..

Then, graduates performed the graduation oath, followed by an awards ceremony for the top students by the representatives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the President of the University.
