7th Scientific Conference for Outstanding Graduation Projects of Fourth-Year Students is being held at Cihan University-Erbil

Cihan University-Erbil launched its seventh annual scientific conference for outstanding graduation projects by the senior students across various academic disciplines on Sunday, April 27, 2025. The event, held in the university’s conference hall, was attended by Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, alongside vice presidents, deans, head of departments, faculty members, and students.
The opening ceremony began with a moment of silence to honour the martyrs, followed by a speech by Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, who emphasized the university’s pride in the annual increase in the quantity and quality of student research. He stated, “These outstanding projects are the result of four to five years of relentless effort, critical thinking, and rigorous academic dedication. They represent a vital step for students aspiring to a brighter future, as high-quality research is foundational to higher education and scientific advancement.”
Dr. Al-Delawi highlighted Cihan University-Erbil’s role as a pioneer in prioritizing scientific research across disciplines, adding, “This seventh edition of the conference is a testament to our students’ excellence. Over recent years, many of these projects have been published in prestigious international journals, reflecting their global relevance.” He extended gratitude to the participating students and their supervisors, reaffirming the university’s commitment to supporting scholars and researchers, particularly those pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees.
The president also outlined the university’s vision to achieve international recognition and leadership, stating, “We are continuously working to send students to leading global institutions. Our mission is to nurture a generation capable of addressing societal challenges through academic expertise, innovation, and scientific excellence.”
In his closing remarks, Dr. Al-Delawi showcased the university’s achievements at regional, national, and international levels, emphasizing its unique strengths across disciplines. He urged graduates to continue contributing to societal development, saying, “We hope our students will persist in their scientific endeavours, solving challenges in all fields and advancing the journey of knowledge and learning.”
Dr. Asma Ahmed Mustafa, the conference’s keynote speaker, delivered an inspirational address titled “From Classroom to Achievement: The Inspiring Journey of Cihan University-Erbil Graduates.” She shared her personal academic journey, stressing the importance of perseverance and critical thinking. Dr. Mustafa praised the university’s unwavering support, “From my undergraduate studies to completing my doctorate and becoming a faculty member, Cihan University-Erbil has been a constant pillar of encouragement.”
The conference, spanning two days, featured 66 graduation projects across disciplines such as health sciences, engineering, law, education, media, and administrative sciences. These projects were presented by students alongside their academic supervisors.
