“83% of Our Graduates Have Secured Employment,” says Professor Al-Delawi.
In a formal ceremony held today, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, announced that a remarkable 83% of the university’s graduates have successfully entered the workforce. The event, held in the university’s conference hall, celebrated Cihan Institute’s achievement of ranking first among all public and private institutes across the Kurdistan Region.
During his speech, Professor Al-Delawi highlighted the university’s new educational strategy, stating, “The global education system is moving towards precise specialization.” He revealed that according to detailed data, “83% of Cihan University-Erbil graduates have become employed and secured jobs.”
The University President emphasized that the key to progress in the modern era is “specialization,” rather than spending four years of study on a collection of secondary subjects a student may not need. “The world has changed,” he said. “It is no longer necessary for a student to spend four years at a university. Instead, through institutes, they can reach the job market sooner and become productive individuals.” He also noted that to adapt to these global shifts, Cihan University-Erbil has activated the “Bologna Process” system, enabling students to focus on practical and specialized aspects of their education.
In another part of his speech, Mr. University President expressed his delight at “Cihan Institute achieving the first rank among all public and private institutes in the Kurdistan Region.” He described this as “proof of the success of our educational institutions’ strategy, which relies on an effective system.” This system extends to placing graduates in other Cihan Group institutions (such as Cihan Bank, Cihan companies, and Toyota agencies), further securing the job market for their alumni.
On his part of speech, Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Cihan Universities and Institutes, congratulated the institute on this milestone and stated, “Achieving the first rank is a great responsibility to maintain it.” Dr. Bajger added, “Being first among the first creates new competition. Our goal is to become a model not only at the level of Kurdistan but also at the level of Iraq and the Middle East.” Dr. Nawzad Bajger stressed the importance of “knowledge and work” as the two main pillars for advancing society and called for Cihan Institute to become a new model of innovation and adherence to scientific ethics.
Finally, Hiwa Mohammed Majeed, Director of Cihan Institute, expressed his happiness with this success and thanked the faculty and students for their hard work and dedication. He attributed the achievement of the top rank to the strategic vision they have worked on since the institute’s establishment in 2019. He clarified that their success was the result of adopting a “specialized educational model” and moving away from “classical methods.” He added, “From the beginning, our goal was to implement a new and different approach to the teaching process. The Ministry of Education’s new classification system, which we had been demanding for years, gave us the opportunity to prove the results of our continuous efforts and to demonstrate in practice that our special model is effective and successful.” He asserted that their first-place ranking was not a coincidence but the result of a solid plan and persistent work. For this, he thanked the President of Cihan University-Erbil and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Cihan Universities and Institutes for their continuous support and assistance.
