A Group of Architectural Department Students Visited the Khanaqah Neighborhood in Erbil

On Monday (2/10/2023), a group of fifth-stage Architectural Department students held a scientific visit to the site of their course project (Building Rehabilitation) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rashed Hamed Al-Samarrai.

The site is a part of the Khanaqah neighborhood, next to Erbil Citadel, within the buffer zone. The students were divided into three groups. Each group made a survey of the site and assigned their own tasks. The first group examined the land use of the different buildings on the site on a copy of its map. The second group measured the height of the different buildings on the site. The third group, however, checked the physical condition and heretical value of the different buildings on the site.

 They archived their study with photos and sketches of the existing houses, buildings, and structures required for their project.
