A SCIENTIFIC VISIT TO SARDAM HOSPITAL BY THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES

On 17 March 2022, a group of second-stage students from the Biomedical Sciences Department visited Sardam Hospital under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ms. Hevi Seerwan Ghafour.

During the visit, Ms. Hevi Seerwan Ghafour and the students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Rebaz Mohammed Sadiq, one of the hospital staff. They started by visiting the Diagnostic Laboratory under Mr. Rebaz’s guidance. He provided in-depth explanations about the devices and tools available in the aforementioned laboratory, the procedures to handle the medical samples professionally, and the ways to diagnose the diseases accurately.

They later went to the Emergency Unit of the hospital which plays an important role in providing patients with prompt and effective clinical care. The students were given a detailed description of how this unit is functioning from receiving a patient at this unit, different types of treatment methods, and step-by-step procedures to save the patient’s life at the Emergency Room.

Such a scientific visit was beneficial to the students, as it increased the students’ knowledge of the information introduced to them.
