A Scientific Visit to the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Pishmarga by Students from the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy

On Monday, January 20, 2025, fourth-year students from the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at Cihan University-Erbil organized a scientific visit to the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Pishmarga in the Kurdistan Region, supervised by Dr. Rashid Mikael Mohammed, a professor of diplomatic protocol.

The students were welcomed by Mr. Ghafour Baradosti, Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Pishmarga, who provided a detailed explanation of the work at the Protocol Department and the importance of adhering to proper protocol rules in various ceremonies. He also discussed the key military protocol ceremonies and the proper methods for organizing these ceremonies during official visits to the region.

This visit is considered a direct practical experience for the students, training them on protocol issues and the main rules practiced in the region. During the visit, the students asked Mr. Ghafour questions, particularly regarding the nature of the department’s work during the parades and military ceremonies, and how to train its staff on these precise rules that highlight the prestige of the region and its effectiveness in the international community. Mr. Ghafour answered all the students’ questions, commending their academic capabilities and knowledge of the essential rules followed in line with diplomatic protocol.
