A Student from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences Leads Erbil Women’s Mini-football Club to the Iraq Republic Cup

Mazen Mohammed, a student in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at Cihan University-Erbil, led the Erbil Women’s Club to victory as head coach, securing the Iraq Republic Cup Mini-football title at the national level.

The achievement came after a series of competitive matches involving clubs from various Iraqi provinces. In the championship final, the Erbil Women’s Club faced the Soran Women’s Club. Demonstrating outstanding technical skill and teamwork, the Erbil Women’s Club claimed a 1–0 victory to win the Iraq Republic Cup title.

The team’s success reflected the coach’s effective tactical planning and the players’ strong performance on the field. This sporting achievement highlights the professional competence and academic excellence of Cihan University-Erbil students in the fields of sports coaching and physical education.

The participation of Cihan University-Erbil students as coaches and supervisors in sports clubs also reflects the university’s commitment to preparing qualified professionals for sports institutions across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. The championship concluded with the presentation of the trophy and medals to the players and coaching staff of the Erbil Women’s Club.
