To bridge the gap between theory and practice, the General Education Department at Cihan University – Erbil organized a field study visit for its third-year students to Sharistani Girls’ Preparatory School in Erbil. The visit took place on Monday, February 17, 2025, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dashne Abdullah Saeed. Its primary aim was to increase students’ understanding of the Teaching Methods course through a hands-on educational experience in a genuine school environment.
Upon arrival, the students and their supervisor were warmly received by Ms. Ronak Yaqoob Hussein, the school principal, who guided them on a tour of the school facilities. During the visit, they were introduced to an authentic classroom setting, where modern teaching strategies and methods were showcased. Subsequently, Ms. Rajan Hiyas, the English teacher, provided a detailed explanation and demonstration of the key techniques used in teaching English. This session allowed the students to observe and listen to the practical application of these methods in real classroom scenarios. Moreover, the students engaged in a Q&A session with the subject teacher focusing particularly on the daily lesson plans to gain a broader and deeper understanding of the teaching approaches employed on-site.
After the visit, the school administration was sincerely thanked for their warm reception and hospitality.
