A Visit to the Iranian School in Erbil by the Physiotherapy Department Students
Hadil Riyadh and Walid Muhammed, third-year students from the Physiotherapy Department, visited the Iranian School in Erbil on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. This visit, held as part of a health education and community outreach initiative, aimed to promote physical well-being among school students.
Upon arrival, Hadil and Walid were warmly received by Mr. Mohammed Golemerza, the school manager, who expressed his appreciation for their significant contribution to students’ health awareness. During the visit, they delivered a comprehensive and engaging seminar titled Good Posture vs. Bad Posture. The seminar aimed to educate students on the importance of maintaining proper body alignment in daily activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and carrying schoolbags. They clearly outlined the differences between healthy and unhealthy postural habits, emphasizing the long-term consequences of poor posture, including back pain, spinal deformities, and muscle fatigue. To enhance students’ understanding of the seminar, they employed a variety of instructional tools, including visual aids, live demonstrations, and interactive activities that actively involved the students. Additionally, they helped the students identify common postural mistakes and introduced simple and effective corrective exercises for daily use.
The seminar also offered several practical strategies for maintaining good posture during extended periods of studying or screen time, an increasingly major concern in today’s digital environment. Hadil’s professional demeanor, clear communication, and enthusiastic delivery made the session both informative and enjoyable. Their visit had a positive and lasting impact on the school community, empowering the school students to prioritize their physical well-being and underscoring the pivotal roles of the field of physiotherapy in preventive healthcare and education.
