Accounting Department Students Demonstrate Social Solidarity Through a Humanitarian Initiative at Sharstan School
Within the framework of humanitarian fieldwork, a group of students from the Department of Accounting at Cihan University–Erbil organized a visit to Sharstan Secondary School for Girls in Erbil on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The activity began with a warm official reception by the school principal, Ms. Ronak Yaqoob, and the teaching staff. A brief coordination meeting was held to establish an organized workflow, ensuring that support reached deserving students in a structured and efficient manner.
At the operational level, the student volunteers, under the supervision of Lecturer Rabin Bilal Mohammed, distributed previously collected aid and donations to students from underprivileged and low-income families. The distribution included essential supplies and direct support aimed at improving the students’ educational environment. During the visit, the university students engaged directly with the schoolgirls to offer moral support, emphasizing the importance of collective solidarity in overcoming financial challenges that may hinder academic progress.
The initiative concluded with a tour of the school premises and meetings with the administrative board, who expressed their deep gratitude to the accounting students for their efficiency in managing and organizing this humanitarian effort. The school administration praised the high level of discipline demonstrated by the students during the distribution process, noting that such effective field involvement contributed significantly to fostering optimism among the students and strengthening cooperation between educational institutions in the governorate.
