On Thursday, October 8, 2026, a group of third-year students from the Department of Accounting at Cihan University–Erbil visited the General Treasury of Kurdistan under the supervision of Dr. Ibrahim Hussein Ahmed.

The students were warmly received by Mr. Sarkawt Makhdid Majid, General Director of the General Treasury. During the visit, Mr. Abdulla Mohammed Abdulla, Head of Accounts, provided the students with a detailed explanation of the Treasury’s organizational structure, daily operations, and procedures for processing government payments and monitoring public revenues and expenditures.

Subsequently, Mr. Abdulla gave a practical demonstration of the expense-processing procedure and explained the different stages from submitting an expense request to recording the transaction and monitoring it through the accounting and financial control systems.

The students also had the opportunity to ask questions and gain further insights into the financial and administrative procedures of the General Treasury.
