Biomedical Sciences Department: A Scientific Visit to Nobel Medical Laboratory

As a continuation of the interesting activities of the Department of Biomedical Sciences of Cihan University – Erbil, a scientific visit was organized on 14 November 2022 (Monday) involving its second-year students under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Mr. Mohammed M. Hussein.

This visit was held to increase the students’ practical knowledge of their field. This is in line with the aforementioned department’s great emphasis on practical fieldwork in accordance with its curriculum by organizing visits to different settings not limited to universities, medical laboratories, hospitals, and beauty centers.

During the visit, the students gained in-depth knowledge of the microbiology field specifically on how to prepare the different types of agar media, how to separate or identify the different types of bacterial pathogens, and how to use medical laboratory equipment in general. This visit indicates one of the main objectives of Cihan University – Erbil, that is, to familiarize its students with various hospitals, universities, and medical laboratories so that they can find jobs easily after graduation.
