Business Administration Department Students Conduct a Scientific Visit to the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry
On Monday, March 9, 2026, second- and fourth-year students from the Department of Business Administration at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific visit to the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Kurdistan Region – Iraq under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qadir.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Assistant Professor Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed Mohammed Amin, Advisor to the Union. In his speech, he discussed the establishment of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, which was founded in 1966. He explained that the Union is an independent institution that works to strengthen economic and commercial relations with several countries, including the United States, Turkey, China, Japan, and several Gulf countries.
He also explained the legal framework governing the Union, stating that the number of board members ranges between seven and thirteen, and that the director is elected by the members. He further highlighted the Union’s cooperation with foreign consulates, particularly in organizing exhibitions and issuing commercial authorizations.
During the visit, Assistant Professor Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed Mohammed Amin encouraged students to start their own business projects and emphasized that many successful businesses begin with small ideas. He also referred to a future project planned in Mosul, which involves the construction of an artificial industrial city to support economic development in the region.
At the end of the visit, the students were given the opportunity to ask questions about the Union’s administrative system and membership requirements. Finally, the supervising lecturer expressed appreciation to the administration and staff of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Kurdistan Region – Iraq for their warm reception and cooperation with the students.
