Business Administration Students Visit the Ministry of Planning in Erbil

On Monday, 24 November 2025, the Department of Business Administration at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit for second- and fourth-stage students to the Ministry of Planning. The visit was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qadir.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Dr. Kenar Fadhil Hidayat, Director of the General Directorate of Development Cooperation and Coordination. She provided an overview of the Ministry of Planning’s work with other government directorates, as well as its collaboration with UN agencies and international organizations. Dr. Kenar also discussed the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing that the Kurdistan Region is committed to achieving them. She noted that each directorate applies the goals most relevant to its own duties and responsibilities.

During the visit, Dr. Kenar explained the roles of departments such as Statistics and Data, Strategy and Human Development, and Projects. She highlighted that each directorate must develop its own strategy, providing examples such as measures to prevent flooding during heavy rainfall and identifying suitable land for agriculture in the Ministry of Agriculture. She stressed the importance of utilizing university research to improve the quality of life for the community.

At the end of the visit, the supervising lecturer expressed gratitude to Dr. Kenar Fadhil Hidayat for providing the students with an opportunity to gain insight into real-world professional environments.
