On Tuesday, 7 July 2026, as part of the training program on the development of China’s intelligent construction industry, Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed from the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University-Erbil participated in an educational visit to Fuzhou Software Technology Vocational School. The visit was organized by the Fujian Innovation Research Institute and coordinated by Ms. Angie Cao, Vice Director of the Section of External Cooperation at the Fujian Provincial Center of Science and Technology Achievement Transformation.
During the visit, Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed toured the school’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center, where she explored advanced AI technologies and their applications in education, engineering, and the construction industry.
She also attended a practical lecture on the use of intelligent robots in construction, gaining hands-on experience with modern robotic technologies that support smart construction practices. The session was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Li Weina and Associate Professor Wu Jinaping, who demonstrated how robotics can improve construction efficiency, safety, and innovation.
To promote academic cooperation and knowledge exchange, Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed visited the Interior Design Department to learn about the software and digital technologies used in teaching and design. She also explored paper-cut modeling; a traditional Chinese folk art recognized as an important part of China’s cultural heritage. This art form involves creating intricate decorative patterns by cutting paper and serves as a source of artistic inspiration in architecture, interior design, and cultural preservation.
The visit concluded with a meeting at the Civil Engineering Department, where Professor Chen Yan, Coordinator of the Engineering Department, warmly welcomed Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed. The meeting focused on exchanging academic experiences and discussing opportunities for future collaboration in engineering education, smart construction, and research between the two institutions.
