Cihan University-Erbil Awards Bachelor’s Degrees to 1,219 Graduates Across 25 Specializations at Its 15th Graduation Ceremony
On Monday, October 20, 2025, Cihan University-Erbil proudly hosted its 15th graduation ceremony. During this grand event, 1,219 graduates representing 25 different specializations were awarded their bachelor’s degrees.
The ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil; Professor Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, Head of the Board of Trustees of Cihan Universities; the presidents of several other universities in Kurdistan; Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; as well as many prominent figures and a large gathering of guests and relatives of the graduates.
In tribute to the pure souls of the nation’s martyrs, the ceremony began with a moment of silence, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Al-Delawi and Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Kalary, Head of the Supervision and Quality Assurance Agency (representing the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research), delivered speeches. Both extended their warm congratulations to the graduates and commended Cihan University-Erbil for its efforts and distinguished role in advancing science and education.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger welcomed the guests and expressed his joy at the presence of the attendees and graduates. He expressed his hope that the graduates would serve as a foundation for the country’s prosperous future. He also highlighted the expansion of Cihan University and its group of educational institutions from their establishment to the present day. In this context, he emphasized that the university not only imparts scientific knowledge but also equips students with skills, expertise, artificial intelligence, and technological proficiency. In conclusion, he encouraged the graduates to advance their careers, become entrepreneurs, and contribute to the nation-building process.
Another segment of the ceremony was dedicated to the graduates’ speech, followed by a short video about Cihan University-Erbil that showcased the university’s achievements, projects, and academic departments.
A significant moment in the ceremony was when the graduates took the legal oath. Subsequently, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ameena Sabah, representing the presidency of the university’s scientific departments, requested the university president to award bachelor’s degrees to the graduates. Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Al-Delawi approved the request and officially conferred the bachelor’s degrees, with all their rights and distinctions, upon the 15th cohort of graduates.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of awards and certificates of appreciation to the first-, second-, and third-place achievers in each scientific department, alongside various artistic activities. Graduates expressed their joy on this occasion and took numerous commemorative photos with classmates, relatives, and professors, marking a memorable final day and an important milestone in their academic journey.
