Cihan University-Erbil Expands Academic Cooperation with the University of Plymouth, UK
Cihan University-Erbil held an online meeting with the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom via online platform of Zoom. The meeting held on the bases of university’s ongoing commitment to strengthening international cooperation and enhancing its position as a leading university in the region. The meeting supervised by Professor Dr. Eyad Haz Kakei, Vice President for Scientific Affairs at Cihan University-Erbil, and attended by the Director of International Relations, the Head of the Department of Radiological Imaging Technology, and from the University of Plymouth, Dr. Bogdan Ghita and Dr. Shaymaa Shakir from the College of Engineering.
During the meeting, both sides discussed several important topics, including potential academic collaboration and joint research projects that could benefit the academic community and contribute to scientific and technological advancement. The discussions also highlighted the importance of launching exchange programs for students and faculty members. These programs aim to provide advanced training opportunities and academic development in both institutions. One essential outcome of the meeting was the proposal to remove existing barriers in order to facilitate the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which would formalize and deepen future cooperation.
Additionally, the two universities explored the possibility of launching joint degree programs, allowing students to earn dual certifications. This would enrich students’ academic experience and improve their prospects in international job markets. The dialogue also included cooperation in areas such as innovation, leadership, and knowledge exchange in emerging technologies. At the end, several concrete proposals to advance future collaboration and further elevate the level of partnership between the two universities.
