Honoring the College of Dentistry at Cihan University-Erbil at the Unified National International Conference for Dentistry Colleges in Iraq
Under the theme (Investing in Scientific Research and Its Role in Economic Development), the Unified National International Conference for Dentistry Colleges in Iraq was inaugurated, with Cihan University-Erbil participating through a delegation from the College of Dentistry, headed by Dr. Qais Burhan Al-Jumaili, Dean of the College of Dentistry, along with several faculty members and students. The conference’s activities began on Friday, December 13, 2024, in Baghdad.
During the opening ceremony, held at the halls of the Grand Celebration Square, Professor Dr. Raghad Al-Hashimi, Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Dentistry Colleges in Iraq, delivered a speech highlighting the scientific significance of the conference and its role as a key platform for fostering relationships among researchers both inside and outside Iraq. The conference attracted many professors, researchers, and specialists from around the world, including participants from the United Kingdom, the United States, India, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Jordan, Syria, the UAE, Lebanon, and Palestine. One of the main focuses of the conference was to review significant technological advancements in the field of dentistry and their application in enriching education to build a strong scientific community based on knowledge exchange.
On the sidelines of the conference, Dr. Qais Burhan Al-Jumaili, Dean of the College of Dentistry at Cihan University-Erbil, presented a shield of honor from Cihan University-Erbil to Professor Dr. Tariq Abbas, Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Dentistry Colleges in the Arab World. This was in celebration of the College of Dentistry at Cihan University-Erbil joining the Arab Committee of Deans.
Professor Dr. Tariq Abbas expressed his gratitude and happiness for this recognition and expressed his desire to visit the Kurdistan Region and participate in the academic activities of the College of Dentistry at Cihan University-Erbil.
Additionally, Dr. Al-Jumaili presented a shield of honor to Professor Dr. Raghad Al-Hashimi, Dean of the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad and Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Governmental and Private Dentistry Colleges in Iraq. The shield was a gesture of gratitude for the kind invitation extended to the College of Dentistry at Cihan University-Erbil to participate in the conference.
On another note, Professor Dr. Raghad Al-Hashimi, Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Dentistry Colleges in Iraq, presented a special recognition to Dr. Qais Al-Jumaili, Dean of the College of Dentistry at Cihan University-Erbil. This recognition included awarding him the conference shield in appreciation of his efforts and support in making the conference a success.
