Cihan University–Erbil Showcases an Outstanding Performance at the Kia Futsal Championship for Kurdistan Universities

In the ongoing matches of the Kia Futsal Championship for Kurdistan Universities, the futsal team of Cihan University – Erbil played two highly competitive and exciting matches, demonstrating outstanding athletic performance before concluding its campaign in the semi-finals.
First Match: A Remarkable Comeback and a Deserved Victory over Koya University
In the opening match, the Cihan University – Erbil team faced Koya University in a highly competitive contest. The first half ended in a 1–1 draw. However, following key tactical adjustments and guidance from the coaching staff, Dr. Akram Abdulwahid and A. L. Ahmed Saeed, the team delivered a remarkable comeback in the second half. The players successfully shifted the momentum of the game and secured a well-deserved 3–1 victory.
Second Match: A Semi-Final Exit Influenced by the Tournament Schedule
According to the tournament regulations, all qualification matches were scheduled to be played on the same day. As a result, Cihan University – Erbil faced Salahaddin University at 7:00 p.m. on the same evening.
In this match, Salahaddin University benefited from two significant advantages. First, Cihan University’s players had already completed a highly demanding match earlier in the day, while Salahaddin University entered the game after resting during the previous round. Second, the match was held in Salahaddin University’s sports hall, providing the host team with a home-court advantage. Despite the determination and continuous efforts of Cihan University’s players, the team delivered a commendable performance under challenging circumstances.
With this result, Cihan University – Erbil exited the Kia Futsal Championship in the semi-finals after delivering an honorable and commendable performance throughout the tournament.
