Cihan University-Erbil Strengthens Academic Ties with Korea University-Sejong

On August 6, 2025, Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi, representing Cihan University-Erbil, conducted a scientific visit to Korea University-Sejong in South Korea as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and scientific ties with leading global institutions.

During the visit, Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi met with Professor Dr. Choong Lyol Lee, Dean of the College of Economics and Statistics at Korea University-Sejong. Their discussions focused on developing a roadmap to foster mutual understanding and initiate joint collaboration between the two universities. Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi also presented an overview of Cihan University-Erbil and its recent scientific achievements.

Both parties agreed to launch joint academic activities at the earliest opportunity, including seminars, workshops, and online training courses. These initiatives aim to promote the exchange of expertise and encourage collaborative research in economics, statistics, and related fields.

Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi emphasized, “This visit marks an important starting point for building a strong academic relationship with a prestigious institution like Korea University, which enjoys high scientific standing.” He expressed hope that the cooperation will benefit both universities, as well as their students and faculty members.

Cihan University-Erbil continues to expand its academic partnerships and integrate into international systems, striving to enhance its scientific standing and provide greater educational and research opportunities for its community. At the end of the visit, Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi presented the shield of Cihan University-Erbil to Professor Dr. Choong Lyol Lee as a token of appreciation.
