Cihan University-Erbil Student Was Selected for the Prestigious UK Advocacy Training Course, Advancing SDGs
Bnawsha Peshraw Farouq Hasan, a promising student from the Media Department at Cihan University-Erbil, was selected for a prestigious training course held in Erbil on January 12 and 13, 2025. This training course, organized by the UK International Development Organization and Women for Women and Investigator Organization, focused on empowering women and girls globally and advocating for women’s issues within the field of international development.
The organizations mentioned earlier work tirelessly to provide healthcare, education, and legal support to women worldwide. Aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this training contributes directly to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality).
The intensive training will equip Bnawsha with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively advocate for gender equality and women’s rights in the context of international development. Her selection highlights her commitment to social justice and her potential to become a strong voice concerning women’s issues. “It’s about giving equality and rights to women,” said Bnawsha. She also mentioned, “By amplifying women’s voices and supporting their participation in all aspects of society, I believe that we can create a more just and equitable world, contributing to SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).”
