Cihan University-Erbil Students Commence HSE Scientific Course at Palacký University, Czech Republic
Following their arrival in the Czech Republic, students from Cihan University-Erbil officially commenced the first day of their scientific training course on “Safety and Environmental Health (HSE)” at Palacký University in Olomouc on Sunday, February 2, 2026.
The delegation, consisting of four students, actively participated in the program: Hajer Mohamed Ali and Mohammed Nariman Salman from the Department of Physiotherapy; Mariwan Arab Omar from the Department of Radiological Imaging Technology; and Ali Maher Daoud from the Department of Medical Biochemical Analysis.
The first-day sessions were delivered by a distinguished team of experts and academics, including Dr. Pavel Spirov, Lecturer in Health and Safety; Dr. Daniel Šimiček, Specialist in Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment; and Dr. Rebar Mahmmud, Lecturer in Environmental Pollution and Control.
The curriculum focused on the fundamental principles of occupational health and safety, hazard types, risk assessment methodologies, safety signage, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Furthermore, the specialists detailed emergency response procedures and strategies for environmental pollution control and hazard mitigation.
The activities were conducted in a highly organized environment, characterized by proactive engagement from the Cihan University-Erbil students. The sessions included in-depth discussions with the experts regarding international standards in the fields of safety and environmental health, bridging the gap between academic theory and global professional practices.
