Cihan University-Erbil Students Successfully Complete the International Training Program
The second cohort of students and graduates from Cihan University-Erbil successfully concluded an advanced one-week training course in the Czech Republic, where they were formally awarded international certificates of participation.
During their stay at the Palacký University Olomouc campus, the students participated in a comprehensive series of scientific and field activities. They completed a specialized program focused on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles and visited the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine. The participants gained firsthand experience with state-of-the-art laboratory research techniques and advanced European scientific equipment. They also received training on international safety standards in scientific and professional environments, significantly enhancing their professional readiness for the global labor market.
Alongside the academic program, the students explored the historic landmarks of Olomouc, including Saint Wenceslas Cathedral, and participated in a scientific excursion to Vienna, Austria, where they visited prominent museums and cultural heritage sites. As part of a cultural exchange initiative, they met with Kurdish students in the Czech Republic and proudly represented their national identity as “Scientific and Cultural Ambassadors.”
On the final day, Professor Dr. Ondřej Bábek, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering and representative of Palacký University, presented the certificates of completion to the participants. The students expressed their sincere gratitude to the Presidency of Cihan University-Erbil for providing this exceptional international learning opportunity. The program was conducted under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Cihan University-Erbil and Palacký University Olomouc.
The participating students were Mina Hussein Karim (Biomedical Sciences), Kamgar Sarhang Mustafa and Ismail Qadir Azzat (Anesthesia Techniques), and Hardi Obaid Rafiq (Community Health Nursing graduate).
