Cihan University–Erbil Successfully Concludes a Distinguished Training Course for New Academic Staff

On November 6, 2025, Cihan University–Erbil successfully held a specialized training course, as part of the university’s ongoing commitment to developing academic competencies and enhancing digital teaching skills.

The course was presented by Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi, a faculty member and Head of the Research Center at Cihan University–Erbil. It focused on e-learning technologies and the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). A total of 21 new academic staff members from various colleges and departments participated in the training, which aimed to improve their proficiency in using Moodle — one of the most effective tools for managing modern educational processes. The sessions were held in the VIP Hall.

The course included a series of theoretical and practical sessions, covering several key topics such as designing e-courses, managing digital content, creating online assessments and quizzes, and enhancing student–teacher interaction through Moodle’s communication and collaboration tools. In addition, participants learned how to build blended learning environments that combine traditional and online teaching methods to achieve optimal learning outcomes.

At the conclusion of the course, Dr. Hassan Al-Delawi emphasized that this training program represents an important step toward developing the technical and pedagogical skills of academic staff. He further noted that empowering faculty members to use learning management systems effectively contributes significantly to improving education quality and enriching students’ learning experiences.
