College of Dentistry Organizes Oral Health Awareness Workshop
A group of fourth-stage students from the College of Dentistry organized an educational workshop at Sindbad Book for Children in downtown Erbil on Friday, 23 January 2026, as part of their community outreach and public health activities.
The workshop aimed to promote oral health awareness among children through interactive and age-appropriate educational methods. During the event, the students provided practical demonstrations of proper toothbrushing techniques, emphasizing the importance of brushing twice daily and maintaining good oral hygiene habits from an early age.
In addition to the educational session, the students conducted basic dental check-ups to assess the general condition of the children’s teeth and gums. They offered simple guidance and advice tailored to each child’s needs, helping both children and parents better understand common dental issues such as tooth decay and gum problems.
The workshop also included informative discussions about the importance of a healthy diet, reducing sugar intake, and scheduling regular dental visits to maintain long-term oral health.
The event was warmly received by children and parents, contributing positively to public health education within the local community.
