Community Health Nursing Students Conduct a Scientific Field Visit to Erbil International Hospital
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, fourth-year students from the Department of Community Health Nursing at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific and educational field visit to Erbil International Hospital. The visit aimed to enhance students’ practical knowledge by exposing them to a professional healthcare environment.
The visit was conducted under the academic supervision of Assistant Lecturer Aram Mohammed Bra and Dr. Amer Ahmed Diab. It began with an introductory session led by Mr. Hawre Safaddin, the hospital’s Human Resources Manager, who familiarized students with professional workplace dynamics and the international standards required for recruiting nursing staff in high-tier medical institutions.
During the practical component, students toured the Emergency Department, Outpatient Clinics, and the Infection Control Unit. They observed international protocols related to patient and staff safety, particularly those concerning communicable diseases. In addition, students gained insight into the efficient and accurate implementation of Nursing Care Plans (NCPs) tailored to diverse patient conditions.
A major highlight of the visit was the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) tour, where students were introduced to advanced patient monitoring systems and mechanical ventilators. This experience emphasized that ICU nursing extends beyond medication administration and requires continuous, high-precision scientific monitoring to support patients in critical conditions.
The visit concluded with the supervising faculty expressing their appreciation to the hospital administration and staff for their cooperation. Students also highlighted the importance of such clinical experiences in preparing them for their future professional careers in the nursing field.
